If you are not here in Zihuatanejo, or Ixtapa, right now and you’re reading this, then you are probably looking at your best and cheapest options for arriving in town. That’s where this article comes in. We’re going to give you all direct flights to Ixtapa – Zihuanejo. There is also bus information for those already here in México.
Generally flights do not get cheaper to Ixtapa-Zihua over time. So if you are thinking of booking then do so soon. Same for lodging, if you are coming November through March then you should start looking a year in advance. Or get it done today.
Simplest Flight Option. Fly through MEXICO CITY (MEX)
Aeromexico Connect and Viva Aerobus (7am – 8pm roughly) fly daily between Zihua and Mexico City – it comes out to like 30 flights per week. And these flights range between about $100 and $250USD roundtrip, depending on the amount of luggage, seat choice, and so on.
And Aeromexico flies to about 20 countries and probably 100 cities from Mexico City, so there are lots of roundtrip options. No matter where you are in the world, you can probably get to Zihua in two flights, three flights at the max. Here are some more direct options, though.

Estrella de Oro – estrelladeoro.com.mx – seems like they are mostly Mexico City and everything in between on that route.
Parkihuni – parkihuni.com.mx – limited destinations, but one example is 450 MXN for the 4 hr trip to Uruapan. And there’s an airport in Uruapan where Volaris flies to TIJ (daily for about 2,000 MXN roundtrip) and LAX (Saturday flights starting at 6,000 MXN roundtrip).
